About

Nordfjord is a narrative and reputation practice.

We work on the public record: how a person or an organisation is described, by whom, and on what evidence. That record is rarely neutral. It is written by someone, and when no one writes it deliberately, it gets written by accident.

The practice exists for two situations.

The first is absence. Someone has done substantial work over decades and there is almost nothing verifiable about it in public. The absence is not modesty. It is usually the result of working under confidentiality for clients who could not be named.

The second is distortion. The record exists and it is wrong, or outdated, or shaped by a party with an interest in it being read a particular way.

We take a small number of clients at a time, and most of the work is not public. That is not marketing language. It is the condition under which the work is possible: a client who can be named in our materials is a client whose confidentiality we did not keep.
